Jean Burgess is Deputy Director of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Creative Industries & Innovation (CCI) and an Associate Professor in the Creative Industries Faculty at the Queensland University of Technology. She is an expert in social media, digital storytelling and user-created content, and she has worked with a wide range of cultural and media organisations on related topics. Her books include A Companion to New Media Dynamics (Wiley, forthcoming 2012), Studying Mobile Media (Routledge 2012) and YouTube: Online Video and Participatory Culture (Polity Press 2009), which has been translated into Polish, Portuguese and Italian.
