Christina Spurgeon lectures in Media and Communication in the Creative Industries Faculty at the Queensland University of Technology. She has worked as a radio journalist, a media and communications researcher, policy advisor and public interest advocate. She has a long association with community media in various capacities including program producer, announcer and listener. She has served on the National Committee of the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia, is founding editor of the sector’s scholarly journal 3CMedia, and a current Director of the Community Media Training Organisation. Christina is the lead investigator on the ARC Linkage project Community Uses of Co-Creative Media that is behind today’s forum.
